April Initiative is excited to host a series of three workshops about future scenarios for the built environment in Luxembourg. In a rapidly evolving world, how will we live together in Luxembourg by 2050? The workshops will use cutting-edge AI tools to reimagine our urban future through the creative lens of history’s most influential figures.

In our first session, we focus on AI text generation. Participants will explore future scenarios by conducting imaginative, “fake” interviews with famous politicians, urbanists, architects, and other notable personalities from the past. Imagine engaging in a dialogue with a historical visionary about their utopia, or crafting a manifesto outlining their ambitious plans for a modern Luxembourg. This creative exercise is designed to spark debate, inspire innovation, and offer fresh perspectives on how historical insights can inform future urban living.

The journey continues with subsequent sessions—one where AI transforms these narratives into striking visual representations, and another that brings them to life through video generation. Together, these workshops invite you to experiment with new technologies and imagine bold solutions for the built environment.

Facilitated by experts in AI and creative technology, the workshops will offer a blend of historical reflection and futuristic innovation.

About the Wokshop Facilitators

Workshop 1 (AI Text Generation)

Benjamin Briggs and Robert Hopwood

Benjamin and Robert bring together expertise in software engineering and communication to help organisations integrate AI into their workflows. Through their company, Harness AI, they train non-technical teams to use AI as a tool for enhancing productivity and creativity while keeping human decision-making at the centre.

Benjamin Briggs is a software engineer with a strong background in AI systems and automation. His work focuses on making AI tools accessible to all skill levels, ensuring that technology serves as an enabler rather than a replacement for human expertise.

Robert Hopwood is a communication specialist with experience in applying AI within large organisations. Before co-founding Harness AI, he worked at SES Satellites in Luxembourg, where he navigated the intersection of technology and communication in a global setting. His expertise lies in integrating AI into professional environments while maintaining clarity and strategic focus.

At the upcoming April Initiative workshop, Benjamin and Robert will lead a session on AI text generation. Participants will engage in AI-driven interviews with historical architectural figures and explore how text generation tools can help imagine the future of the built environment.

Workshop 2 + 3 (AI Image + Film Generation)

David Freymond

With a background in filmmaking and visual storytelling, David has worked across film production, advertising, and creative direction. He has collaborated with studios such as IKKI, Mireille Productions, and Imaginastudio, leading projects from concept to final execution. His expertise spans directing, team management, and visual design.

Currently, David is developing an animated series exploring failure through the stories of historical figures known for their misfortune or incompetence. He is also passionate about generative AI and its potential to transform visual creation.

At the upcoming April Initiative workshop on the future of Luxembourg, David will lead a session on AI image generation, sharing his insights into this evolving creative tool.
